A word about borders (boundariy)
When I first knocked on the door of immigration studies over 20 years ago, I couldn't completely escape the assumption that borders were visible and self-evident, rooted in the belief that prevailed at the time. Meeting people with diverse backgrounds through my research, I became aware of how shortsighted that assumption was. It was only with this realization that my research truly began. Reflecting on borders is a way for me to return to the starting point of my own research.
